Love in the Recession
Hi There, I hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day! I was alerted to an article today posted on CNNMONEY.com. Click http://cnnmoneytalkback.blogs.cnnmoney.cnn.com/2009/02/09/wedding_jitters/ to read the story. The story follows 9 couples planning their weddings and what they are doing to cut back and save money. After the story, anyone reading it can post a comment. There are dozens more comments from brides and grooms about what they are doing to save money on their weddings.
One of the common themes is to do your own flowers! I didn’t need to read this article to know that. I have seen this trend first hand. The problem is, do you know how to do your own flowers? You don’t want to walk down the aisle with wilted, ugly flowers, do you? If you don’t know what you are doing you may get lucky or you may end up with wilted, ugly flowers. Let me show you how to do your own flowers the right way. There are steps that really need to be taken to ensure this…like processing your flowers, using flower preservatives and hydrating liquids and refrigerating the flowers. If you are going to make the effort to do your own flowers, make the effort to do them right. You want to be happy and proud of what you did, not embarrassed and remorseful.
I guarantee that if you follow the steps in my Do It Yourself Wedding Flower Guide that you will not be embarrassed or remorseful. You will be happy and proud of what you accomplished, both with how the flowers turn out and how much money you saved!
Make sure you practice ahead of time. Allow plenty of time…..do not try to do this the night before your wedding!!! That is a HUGE mistake! Get your flowers 3 days ahead of the wedding. Process them as soon as you get them. Let them sit overnight. Two days before the wedding, gather up your family, friends, bridesmaids and anyone else able to help you and get ALL your flowers done. Keep them refrigerated until you are ready to use them.
